Welcome to Peristeirations. This is my first post. I imagine an explanation of the title is in order. First, you won’t find the word in any dictionary or spell checker. I made it up! (Should I apply for a patent on it? I believe it to be unique and the meaning is non- obvious.)
Further explanations and guidance as to my intentions will be provided in the near future. But for the time being, assume that any assertion found herein is surrounded by question marks and an invitation for discussion.
Peristeirations … any relationship to peristalsis? Perhaps peristeirations are activities or movements somewhat akin to peristalsis but involving other arenas than the digestive tract: wave patterns along a vector of some sort, possibly metaphysical or spiritual? Then too, there is perestroika, a Russian term, the precise meaning of which I am not entirely certain. My knowledge of Greek is meager so I can’t parse any hidden Greek roots. Pericles, perihelion, aphelion. Perhaps I shall ponder further. I wonder how many months before someone else in cyberland responds to your new term…
